No limitations- I felt that I could express my personality and academic interests to the fullest here. I don't have to hold myself back, and others appreciate me for the qualities I value and share those values. Ultimately, I feel not like I fit into Vanderbilt, but that Vanderbilt fits into me.
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
VUcept: Everyone has experiences and life lessons that have shaped their perspective and impact in a society. As a VUceptor I have the opportunity to engage with those different perspectives in first-year students. I can give them the tools and support they need to enhance their viewpoints and help make make Vanderbilt and wherever they go a better community.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
It was my first-year writing seminar: Religion and Film in India. I liked it because it was about a culture that I thought I was familiar with, but the class showed me the multiple dimensions to Indian religious texts and traditions. On top of that, we got to watch movies every week, and the professor cared deeply about his students' learning.
