Why Vanderbilt

I love Vanderbilt because of the people that I have been able to meet, the stories that I have been able to hear and share, and the community. It's a special place, where I have been able to learn about what it looks like to be human, and to have compassion for others that aren't like me in new ways.

Describe a favorite activity or organization and why you like it.

I love my internship with Campus Dining because I get the opportunity to use my passions and gifts to serve the community. I really like working with our campus dietitian, and meeting with different leaders around campus to raise awareness for eating disorders.

Describe a favorite class and why you like it.

My favorite class was Procedures in Transition to Adulthood. My professors were really personable and involved in research and practical applications of what we were learning in the classroom. Each class was interactive and fun, especially when to went to a Halloween party at a man's house who had multiple disabilities to learn what in-home support looks like in a very hands-on manner.

Describe your most memorable Nashville or off-campus experience.

I loved going to the Light's Festival an hour and a half away. It was like Tangled, where we lit and released lanterns into the sky together.
