Vanderbilt was the only school that I felt made a concerted effort to make me feel like I mattered and that I was important during the application and admissions process. Not only did I feel valued and supported during that process, but I have continued to feel that way for the past two and a half years I have been a student here.
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
Truthfully, my involvement in Tour Guides has been one of the most fulfilling and impactful experiences during my time at Vandy. Having the opportunity to share how incredibly formative and positive my time has been with hundreds of people is invaluable to me. One of the most gratifying things seeing the excitement and awe that I have for my school reflected in someone else.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
I took a class in the Sociology Department called "Racial Progress, Racial Domination," and it was one of the most informative and relevant classes I have taken at Vanderbilt. The class provided me with quantifiable and specific knowledge that further informed and refined my worldview, and it allowed the opportunity for everyone in the class to contribute their own experiences to enhance the quality of discussion.
