Why Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt was a perfect mix of everything I wanted in a school - great academics, a fun city, Division I athletics, and a fun social life. On top of that, the collaborative, supportive campus atmosphere was a place I knew I could thrive in.

Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
My favorite student organization that I've been a part of at Vanderbilt is VUcept. As a student VUceptor, I've mentored a group of 20 incoming first-year students for the past 3 years with my faculty partner, Gilbert Gonzales. I love staying connected to the first-year experience and getting to support new students as they make the transition to college.

Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
By far, my favorite class I've taken at Vanderbilt was Food Politics. That class completely transformed how I view the American food industry and encouraged me to make a lot of changes to my own consumer habits. We even got to take some fun field trips to the Nashville Farmers Market and the urban farm at Trevecca Nazarene University.

Describe your most memorable Nashville/off-campus experience.
Last year I went to the Democratic Presidential Primary Debate in Atlanta with other members of Vanderbilt College Democrats. We sat front row and got to meet the candidates afterwards!
