My story with Vanderbilt started way back in the 6th grade when we were making NCAA March Madness brackets. I saw Vanderbilt on the list of schools and thought "Wow the name of this school is pretty cool!" and then proceeded to pick them as my winner for the entire tournament. I could not have been more wrong with my pick and at that moment, I actually really hated Vanderbilt. It wasn't until my freshman year in high school that I realized how much of a perfect fit Vanderbilt was for me. We were researching potential colleges and I could not help but notice how much of a perfect fit Vanderbilt was for me. When I went on a tour here my senior year of high school, I was truly absorbed in the beauty of this campus and from that point on, I applied Early Decision and never looked back.
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
I am a huge fan of the Dore for a Day program. It is similar to the job of a Tour Guide, but it is on a much more intimate level. It allows for prospective students to get a look into a class at Vanderbilt and have a 1 on 1 student guide.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
My favorite class so far has definitely been Ancient Greek. My professor was an extremely passionate man when it came to Classics in general and he truly made the class an unforgettable experience. He always stressed the importance of never losing hope and always pushing forward and I will never forget everything that he taught me.
