The collaborative academic environment and diverse range of social outlets sold me on Vanderbilt. Despite a competitive admissions process, the academic environment feels like your peers are there to help you succeed even if they share the same goals. To compliment the intensity of academics, is a lively social scene ranging from local Nashville concerts to campus sponsored events. Regardless of where you find this outlet, the balance is unbeatable!
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
First semester freshman year I decided to pledge the business fraternity, AKPSI, with little to no business knowledge and a lot of ambition. This organization has not only created a sub-community for me at Vanderbilt, but has taught me more about the professional world then I could have ever imagined knowing prior to entrance.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
This semester I am privileged to be Elections, a political science class offered every 4 years with the presidential election cycle. Not only are we taught by four of the most knowledgable professors, we are also lucky enough to hear from accomplished speakers each week including the Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and the author of The Gamble.
