Why Vanderbilt

Coming from New York, I wanted a place that would allow me to meet new people and let me combine my many interests into my engineering major. I also really wanted to be able to be in a growing city that was completely different than the one I grew up in and have that influence my college experience. Vanderbilt enriches me in so many ways every day with the endless opportunities and and experiences you can have.

Describe a favorite activity or organization and why you like it.

My favorite organization I am apart of is Vanderbilt Programming Board’s Homecoming Committee. I really enjoy knowing that I have a huge impact on Homecoming activities and what events to put on for the entire student body can enjoy. It allows me to be creative and deliver to students the type of Homecoming experience they actually want.

Describe a favorite class and why you like it.

My favorite class I’ve taken at Vanderbilt is my Applied Behavioral Science course. The premise of the course is to learn about how to understand people in order to be a better manager. You take many personality tests to determine your strengths and weaknesses in management and you learn a lot of anthropology and how to manage highly intelligent people.

Describe your most memorable Nashville or off-campus experience.

I went to an art museum that had different exhibits throughout different buildings in Nashville. I loved hopping around to different streets and buildings to meet the artists personally and ask about their inspiration for their art.
