I went to a small high school, and we didn't really have a whole lot of school spirit. While I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for in a college (I applied to a lot!), I knew I wanted to be somewhere that I was proud to call home.
When I toured Vandy, I fell in love with the way students talked about their lives here-- every one of them had a reason to love this place. While few reasons were the same, they all had something in common: it's the culture that makes Vandy what it is. I fell in love with Vandy that day… and haven't stopped falling!
Describe a favorite activity or organization and why you like it.
So hard to pick!! I'm part of a pre-professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and it was the first org I joined at Vandy. While I expected to gain great business acumen from the experience, I didn't realize I was also gaining an incredible community and home on campus
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
Justice, with Professor Booth! He managed to make 8 AM on Monday morning easy to wake up for, and was an amazing introduction to political science and theory.
Describe your most memorable Nashville or off-campus experience.
My first few weeks at Vandy, my friend decided to get last-minute tickets to a country concert. I expected to show up to some huge venue or stadium, but when we got there, realized there were no more than a hundred other people. We were touching the stage!
That’s one of the best things about Nash… we have all the perks of living in a big city but still have a small town culture.

Kenny Chesney (gave me his guitar. Best. Moment. Ever.)
