I toured Vanderbilt when I was auditioning here at the Blair School of Music, and instantly found the community to be warm and inviting. Vandy has also allowed me to pursue a conservatory-level music education with the economics courses of a large research university.
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
I'm the Director of Partnerships for Moneythink, and our organization goes into the local Nashville community to tutor personal finance to low-income high school students. Building relationships with my students has been one of the most rewarding parts of my college experience.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
One of my favorite classes has been Greek Civilization with Professor Solomon - I took the class during my first year here at school, without any prior exposure to ancient Greece. I felt very comfortable sitting down with my professor to ask him questions and it was very insightful to learn about ideals of the time.
Describe your experience becoming a part of the Vanderbilt community.
I really like that Vanderbilt is very collaborative; although college can be stressful at times, I know that I'll always have people who support me and genuinely want to see me succeed - and it goes both ways.
