I'm from a really small town and wanted to find a place that would feel like the community at home but also allow me to grow. When I came to tour Vanderbilt, my mom approached these two random girls who were eating lunch and asked them what they thought about the school here. They spent the next 10 minutes telling me about they're experience at Vanderbilt and why they love it so much. I feel like that experience really represents the type of community you'll find at Vanderbilt, where students are constantly lifting each other up regardless of if they know the other student. Vandy has really become my home and I can't imagine being somewhere else.

AMIGOS is a fantastic organization where I get to travel to underprivaleged areas around Nashville and tutor students at various middle schools. It's been a great experience for me watching students grow and help them learn while also giving back to the greater Nashville area.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
Currently I'm in a class called Design Thinking that is focused on showing you how to think about the design process. Some of the different project our class is working on this semester include creating a better IV transportation system for patients at the Vanderbilt Childrens hospital, creating a song using Artificial Intelligence, and designing a supersuit to help decrease upper back pain. I think it's incredible that we have the ability to work on real life projects as engineering students.
