Vanderbilt for me was the perfect example of balance. From the second I stepped on campus for my tour, I realized how unique it was to see a school that was not too big, not too small, in a city but its own comfortable bubble, where students seemed to effortlessly strike up a balance between rigorous academics and a vibrant social life. I instantly felt at home here and knew it was the place for me!
Describe a favorite activity or organization and why you like it.
Being a Student Government junkie, I immediately got involved in the Vanderbilt Student Government Senate and have enjoyed every second of it. VSG Senate is the Student Government legislative body on campus and we work to pass bills and resolutions and communicate with the administration on salient students issues. I absolutely love having the opportunity to represent my fellow students and forward legislation on issues that influence our day to day life on campus.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
My favorite class was my First-Year Writing Seminar on Black Lives Matter. Not only was the professor amazing, but the class allowed me to learn American history from a completely different perspective than I had been taught in high school. It encouraged me to minor in AADS!
Describe your most memorable Nashville or off-campus experience.
My most memorable Nashville experience was not just one experience, but probably the hundreds of times my friends and I have gone "exploring" around the city. Random Saturdays spent strolling down Broadway listening to music and eating at one of the hundreds of restaurants that make Nashville a foodie city have become the most memorable aspects of my Vanderbilt experience.
