Why Vanderbilt

I chose Vanderbilt because it embodied everything I could want in a school! It was not too big where I would drown in huge lectures and not too small where I would end up knowing everyone. It was academically-focused but the students held a good work/life balance. It was far enough away and close enough to home, and it was the only place where people actually waved and smiled at me while I was on a tour!

Describe a favorite activity or organization and why you like it.

i love being a part of Vanderbilt Student Government because it allows me to better my fellow student's experiences! I have been able to implement changes to make Vanderbilt even better than when I started here and I have the privilege of leaving it better than I found it.

Describe a favorite class and why you like it.

My favorite class that I have taken so far is WWII with Dr. Bess. He emphasizes the interdisciplinary aspects of history and has let all of the students in the class into his mind and thought process surrounding the intricacies of morality during the conflict. Not only is the class interesting, but it also teaches me things are that are much farther reaching than just WWII!
