I visited Vanderbilt my senior year of high school and completely fell in love. However, I convinced myself that I shouldn't go to school in my hometown, so I ended up not even applying. Fast forward to the end of my freshman year at a different college, I knew I wasn't happy and realized I could be just as independent at a college in my hometown. So, I made the decision to transfer to Vandy. Best decision I have ever made. It ended up that my best friend from home transferred to Vandy too, and we were randomly placed as roommates! The stars haven't stopped aligning for me at Vanderbilt since.
Describe a favorite activity or organization and why you like it.
I LOVE being a tour guide because I get to meet incredible fellow students and amazing prospective students. PLUS, it has been great practice for public speaking in front of large groups.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
I was dreading taking Public Policy (for my major) because I am not a fan of politics. However, it surprised me by becoming my favorite class that I've taken at Vandy. We got to do incredible hand on projects such as creating a policy memo and presentation for a Nashville business + writing policy recommendations for the Northern Ireland government.
Describe your most memorable Nashville or off-campus experience.
I worked as a marketing intern for The Grand Ole Opry my junior year. One show that I worked, I got to see Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, and Vince Gill. Then the queen of country music herself, Dolly Parton surprised Reba and the whole crowd by coming out on stage. Only in Nashville!
