Why Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt is clearly the best academic fit for me as it has the strongest education program in the country (both in the quantity and quality of opportunities offered). However, my love for Vanderbilt is more cultural than it is academic. Students are passionate and involved in both academics and extracurriculars, but the university fosters an environment of collaboration as opposed to one of competition. Dores join organizations that allow us to explore our passions, whatever they may be, while meeting friends with similar interests along the way. I love my school because I've been able to build a balanced and complete life here.

Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it (2-3 sentences).
My favorite organization is Camp Kesem. I love Kesem because it fosters a community of diversity, empathy, and care in which every counselor feels safe. From singing songs and jumping around during general body meetings to interacting with families throughout the year, Kesem offers a fun and rewarding experience to all of its members.

Describe a favorite class and why you like it (2-3 sentences).
My favorite class is/was introduction to Sociology (SOC 1010). The course educated me on current events with a specific focus on racial and socioeconomic inequality within the United States. Sociology taught me to view the world in a completely different way than I had before and I recommend that everyone take at least one sociology course in college!
