I was not happy with my previous university experience. I wanted to attend a university with more open minded people, who I felt gave me opportunities to expand myself as a person. I have already had so many opportunities to do great things at this university, and it has barely been a semester. From academics to general involvement with my community, this university provides the frame work I need to achieve my own success.
Describe a favorite activity/organization and why you like it.
This semester I have decided to pick up a job with the university. I work for the CASTLES program, where I get to make an impact in everyday people's lives. It is a rewarding experience that gives me an opportunity to help the community be more aware of their wellness options and improve everyday life.
Describe a favorite class and why you like it.
I enjoy my english literature and cultural analysis class a lot. I get to be in a class with amazing people, who are broadening my mindset. I get new points of views on issues and realities, that I never even knew existed.
Describe your experience becoming a part of the Vanderbilt community.
I had a rough time at first integrating into a new university for the third time. I lost a lot of impetus in trying to become involved, but I found motivation and have been joining what I can. I plan to become much more involved over the next semester.
