First-Year and Transfer Wait Lists Closed

Posted by on Thursday, July 14, 2016 in General Information, Vandy Bloggers, Waitlist.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has now closed the wait lists for fall 2016 incoming first-year and transfer students. We have emailed notifications to those of you who remained active on our waitlist in order to update you as quickly as possible.

To all students who were placed on either of our waitlists but who did not receive an offer of admission, we appreciate your patience throughout the process. We want you to know that this ultimate result is due to the overwhelmingly high caliber of our applicant pool this year, rather than any indication of your particular accomplishments. As always, thank you for your interest in Vanderbilt University. We wish you the best in your college career and beyond.

So now that the waitlist is closed, will you post overall admission rate numbers?

I can certainly give an update at this point. The numbers for this year will be finalized on our official census day after the start of the fall term. As of June 15, 2016, the admit rate was 10.7%. That is for 3,482 admits from a pool of 32,442 applications. Thanks for the question.

My daughter applied for transfer on March 15 but never had any kind of confirmation communication, waitlist or otherwise. We will call on Monday to find out what happened. It feels like a technology hiccup somewhere in the process.

Please have your daughter check with her Vanderbilt admissions counselor. That will be the best way to get more information on your particular circumstance. Thank you.
