Best Wishes!

Posted by on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in General Information.

This is my last blog as a Vanderbilt admissions counselor.  I am incredibly sad to type that, but I am also excited for the future.  I’m not leaving the profession because I absolutely LOVE what I do.  However, I am “jumping to the other side of the desk” – I’ll be a college counselor on the high school side next year.

Vanderbilt is a huge part of who I am today and I know I will leave a piece of my heart here in Nashville.  As I reflect on this fact, I wanted to share with you some last minute sage advice. Yet, as I sat here typing, deleting, and re-typing I figured out that I shared most of that wisdom with you in my past blogs.

So, instead of boring you by rehashing all of that, I am going to leave you with my favorite piece of advice “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” by Baz Luhrmann.  You want sage?!  This is sage.

I wish you the absolute best as you embark on your collegiate journey!

Kylie, best wishes in your new endeavors.  It has been wonderful reading your blog and has helped us all in so many ways.  It’s as though you have always read our minds and answered our questions before we asked.  Enjoy the next chapter!!!

Best of luck Kylie!  You were by far the most helpful poster on the Vandy admissions blog.

Kylie: As the moderator of the UGA admissions blog, I have followed Vandy’s blog and am impressed with your work. I wish you well on the other side of the desk!

Kylie, I am sad to hear that you are leaving Vanderbilt.  This blog has provided so much beneficial information throughout the admissions process for both my daughter and myself.  I met you briefly at one of the Road Show events and was very impressed with the way you interacted with the prospective students.  The high school students that you will counsel are very lucky to have you.  My daughter is a member of the Class of 2015 from your region.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making her dreams come true.  I wish you the best of luck!
