Deadlines

Posted by on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Application Process.

A deadline is a deadline is a deadline… unless it’s a suggestion?  As a senior in college there are A LOT of dates to remember (you better get a calendar/planner/iPhone application to help you remember everything).  Sometimes a deadline is hard and fast – as in if you don’t meet it you’re out of luck.  Other times people are willing to bend a little if you miss a date.  It’s best to not miss deadlines, however, so you don’t have to find out!  In our process, submitting materials in time is the only way we can guarantee you’ll receive full consideration for admission and merit scholarships.  Here are the dates you need to know:

November 1st submit Early Decision I application

November 1st ED I applicants submit CSS Financial Aid PROFILE

November 6th last day for ED I applicants to request alumni interview

December 1st submit Ingram Scholarship

December 15th ED I decisions mailed

January 3rd submit Early Decision II or Regular Decision application

January 3rd submit Cornelius Vanderbilt and/or Chancellor’s Scholarship applications

January 8th last day for ED II applicants to request alumni interview

January 15th last day for RD applicants to request alumni interview

February 5th ED II and RD applicants submit CSS Financial Aid PROFILE

February 5th ALL applicants submit FAFSA

February 15th ED II decisions mailed

March 1 submit Transfer application

March (mid-month) scholarship recipients notified of awards

April 1 RD decisions mailed

May 1 notification of enrollment for RD admitted students

May/June/July transfer and waitlist offers of admission

August 24th classes begin

What happens if you miss a deadline?  Contact your admissions counselor first. They may direct you to the Office of Undergraduate Scholarships or the Office of Financial Aid.  We will try to accommodate students and families as best as we can, but please know that sometimes the process is too far along and we can no longer accept your application for admission or scholarship.

Thank you to University High School and Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School for the lovely Vanderbilt cookie (pictured above)!
