Al Gore is our co-pilot . . .

Posted by on Thursday, December 13, 2007 in General Information.

What’s up blogland? This is Thom and I’m a member of the freshly minted Vandy Admissions Blog Team. Like Chick-fil-a says, “We didn’t invent the chicken, just the chicken sandwich” so say we. “We didn’t invent the Admissions Blog, but Al Gore invented the internet and he’s a Vandy guy . . . so yeah.”

Over the course of the next year the OUA triumvirate of James, Ken and I will be trying to give you the inside goods on all things Vandyland and what, how, and why we do what we do in Admissions. We want to hear from you. Let us know what you want us to hit on.

Just a bit about myself, I’m a Nashville native, Southern born and raised, but have lived a big chunk of my life in the Midwest. I have been in admissions about 7 1/2 years . . . on purpose (yes, people do actually aim to end up in admissions). I’m married to the love of my life and blessed with a two year old that keeps me on my toes. Check out my profile for the whole deal.

More later on our upcoming Early Decision letters, which all go out tomorrow.

I just wanted to say that I really look forward to the posts on this blog. It’s nice to hear about the personalities of the people in Admissions (it makes the college process so much more human!) and to stay updated about some of the news at Vanderbilt. It’s impossible not to become a ‘Dores fan..

Thanks for the posts, and please keep the early prospects filled in. :)
