International Student

International students have always been an integral part of Vanderbilt’s student body. For all but two years since the university opened its doors in 1875, Vanderbilt has enrolled students from other countries.

Vanderbilt’s first class included students from Mexico and Germany and an American resident of China. Since then, international students have participated in almost every facet of the university community, setting standards and breaking barriers.

Now we welcome you to apply for membership in a very select group of more than 1,000 international students, 500 scholars, and their dependents, who represent more than 50 countries from around the world and who call Vanderbilt and Nashville home.
