Opportunities Abound

There’s something you should know, dear Inside ‘Dores readers. One of my potential life career goals is to be a full-time blogger. I realize it’s not the most attainable or realistic of goals, but this week I came one step closer. Through a really awesome opportunity here at Vanderbilt, master blogger Nathan and myself now have our own blog!

InsideVandy is Vanderbilt’s online source for student media, and they recently started up a blogging initiative. Their goal is to form a group of bloggers from the Vanderbilt community who provide their view on a variety of topics–our fellow bloggers write on the world at large, hip hop, study abroad, and more! Essentially, it’s a blogging community that’s particularly relevant to life at Vandy.

For Nathan and I, this presents a really cool opportunity to start our own blog and grow a readership by utilizing Vanderbilt’s resources. InsideVandy already has a following of its own, so we gain access to their audience and basically jumpstart our blog–this is definitely easier than solely marketing it ourselves. Plus, yesterday all the bloggers were in The Hustler, Vanderbilt’s student newspaper–growing our readership even more!

Our article in The Hustler, complete with my shadow. Also, pretty sure the first time Nathan and I have actually both been in a picture on Inside 'Dores.

I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a while, and this ended up being a really cool opportunity that sparked me to finally getting around to doing it. That, and the great fun of collaboration–seriously, blogging is way easier when you’re doing it with a friend. By now, you’re hopefully wondering what Nathan and I are writing about. Well, you can check it out here!

Blogging about blogging? Done.
