Big/Little Reveal!!

So for those who know nothing about Greek Life (don’t worry, that was me a year ago) every sorority has Bigs and Littles. Basically, every new member is a Little and gets a Big, who is someone a year older than them to show them the ropes and hang with a ton. You also then join a family with a Grandbig (like Eileen). As a new member, I was so excited to get a Big.

At Alpha Chi, we get three potential bigs to hang out with for a week each. They are called Alphas, Chis, and Omegas respectively (clever, right?). After that, the Bigs find out who their Littles are, and for an entire week, bombard them with love and plenty of Alpha Chi stuff. They also give the Littles clues as to guess who they are. It’s a super fun week full of plenty of sweets, AXO t-shirts, and crafty Alpha Chi stuff. My Big made an email account and it was so much fun getting anonymous messages all week telling me where my next gift was.

After a week of suspense, we had Big/Little reveal. Every Little was told a costume to wear (I was given an apron) and we all went upstairs at the house so we couldn’t see any of the Bigs. Then, one by one we came downstairs where our Big and entire family were waiting excitedly and wearing the same costume. I was so excited to find out who my big was and that I was a part of the sweet stuff family. We all went out to dinner afterward so I got to hang out with my Big, Lauren, and got to know the rest of the fam.

The huge sweet stuff fam!

Big/Littles are one of the really cool parts of being in a sorority and it was such an exciting night to get a Big and join a family!
