Free Pizza for Everyone!

Posted by on Friday, September 23, 2011 in College Life, Dining, Nashville, Student Life.

I am currently sitting on a couch outside of Rand anxiously awaiting free pizza. At 12 noon, CityVU is hosting the Nashville Pizza Challenge. This event, held once a year, is a chance for Vanderbilt students to decide which pizza is the best in Nashville.Today’s competitors include Domino’s and Pizza Hut, as well as some local pizzas from Pizza Roma and Jet’s. Pizza is probably my single favorite food, so I will definitely try them all.

Pizza is a staple in every college kid’s diet. It’s cheap and easy. It’s good for big groups or just a quiet night in. It is perfect for lunch and dinner (and even breakfast if you grab your leftovers on the go). The pizza from the Commons brick oven absolutely rivals the pizza from the off-campus vendors, but it is nice to have so many options for eat-in and delivery off campus.

It is quite a daring feat to serve free pizza to a group of college students at the prime lunch hour. I should get in line now to beat the rush. Only at Vanderbilt.
